Delivery & Collection Guide

At Mel’s Amazing Cakes, we want to make sure your cake arrives at your venue looking exactly as flawless and beautiful as it did when it left our kitchen. Here is everything you need to know about getting your cake safely to your celebration.

1. Studio Collection (Free)

Best for: Single and 2 -tier celebration cakes, cupcakes, and smaller treats.( excluding Wedding Cakes)

If you choose to collect your cake from our kitchen in Flintshire, we will arrange a specific collection time window with you.

  • Packaging: Your cake will be safely packaged in a sturdy, professional cake box.

  • Driving with a Cake: The safest place for a cake in a car is on a flat surface, such as the passenger footwell or a flat boot space. Never travel with a cake on a car seat (they slope!) or on someone’s lap.

  • Air Con is Your Friend: On warmer days, please ensure your car’s air conditioning is turned on before putting the cake inside.

Please note: Once a cake leaves our studio premises, responsibility for its safety transfers to the client. If you are nervous about transporting a delicate design, we highly recommend booking our delivery service!

2. Professional Delivery & Setup

Best for: Multi-tiered celebration cakes, delicate structures, and all wedding cakes.

For larger cakes, stress-free delivery is the way to go. We will coordinate directly with your venue or event planner to arrange a delivery time slot, handle the transport, and set up the cake on-site (including adding any fresh flowers, toppers, or stands).

Our Delivery Zones & Rates

We are based in Flintshire and regularly deliver across North Wales and  Cheshire and beyond! Delivery is calculated by mileage from our kitchen and covers our time, fuel, and the on-site setup of your cake.

  • Local Flintshire Delivery: (Mold, Holywell, Buckley, Connah’s Quay, etc.)

  • Extended North Wales Delivery: (Denbighshire, Wrexham, Llandudno, and coastal areas)

  • Cheshire Delivery: (Chester and surrounding areas)

An exact delivery quote will be provided alongside your initial cake design estimate.

3. Important Delivery Information

  • Venue Access: Please ensure you provide us with a contact name and phone number for your venue, as well as confirmation of what time we can gain access to the room for setup.

  • Cake Display: It is the client’s responsibility to ensure the venue has a sturdy, level table ready for the cake. Cakes are heavy, and a flimsy table or an uneven floor can be a hazard!

  • Wedding Cake Deliveries: We aim to deliver and set up wedding cakes roughly 2 to 3 hours before your guests arrive to ensure everything is perfectly in place ahead of your reception.
